The Founder’s Story
A Mother’s Movement for a Safer Future
I didn’t start Natura Dura because I dreamed of running a business—I started it because I’m a mom.
As a solo entrepreneur and mother, I wanted to create a safer world for my baby. But every time I rolled out a yoga mat, I was met with the same concerns—synthetic smells, slippery plastic surfaces, and materials destined for landfills.
I knew there had to be a better way.
So I spent months researching, testing, failing—and refusing to compromise. That’s when I discovered the power of cork.
Today, our yoga mats are crafted from pure cork and plant-based rubber. They offer better grip the more you sweat. They break down naturally when their time is done. And each one plants a tree for the next generation.
For me, this isn’t just fitness gear—it’s a movement toward mindful living, for our children, and for the planet they will inherit.
Caring for Your Cork Yoga Mat
-
Roll your mat cork side facing out.
-
Never fold or crease. This preserves the natural cork fibers and prevents unnecessary wear.
- Avoid leaving your mat in extreme heat (like inside your car).
- High temperatures can distort the shape and texture of natural cork.
-
Cork is naturally antimicrobial—light cleaning is all it needs.
-
Wipe with mild soap and water when necessary, using a soft cloth.
-
Let air dry, always out of direct sunlight.
-
Your mat is designed for yoga, Pilates, and mindful movement.
-
Avoid shoes, heavy weights, or sharp objects.
-
Not suitable for weight lifting or cross-training sessions.
